New details regarding the death of the Lebanese artist, Georges Al-Rassi

On Sunday evening, new details were revealed regarding the death of the Lebanese artist, George Al-Rassi, at dawn on Saturday.

The local “Al-Jadeed” TV reporter, Hadi Al-Amin, said in a series of tweets on his Twitter account, “The contractor for the factory road works that killed the artist George_Al -Rassi is Q.H, and it seems that he stopped the works because of unpaid dues in his favor.”

Al-Amin continued: “There is a supervision committee, a receiving committee, and a regional directorate, who signed the disclosure before paying.”

The Minister of Works and Transport, Ali Hamiya, called for “opening the file of the Republic’s contractors wide and referring them to the judiciary.”

He added that “the Council for Development and Reconstruction was the one who commissioned the factory road project, and the construction of the cement separator that caused the accident that killed the artist, George Al-Rassi.”

He continued: “All the misfortunes of this country have a hand in the Council for Development and Reconstruction, and the question is: How did the ministry receive these unfinished and non-conforming works?”

The artist, George Al-Rassi, died, at dawn on Saturday, at the age of 39, in a terrible traffic accident, at the Syrian-Lebanese border, while returning from a concert he performed, Friday, in Syria.

The accident occurred, in the early hours of Saturday morning, at the Masnaa border point with Syria, where it hit a cement separator on the road. He was accompanied by his work coordinator, Zina Al-Mara’bi, who also died and her body was buried on Sunday afternoon.

The artist, Nadine Al-Rassi, launched a sharp attack on her country’s government, accusing it of causing the death of her brother, “George”.

Nadine published on “Instagram” several photos and videos, by commenting on her, expressing her anger at the accident that killed her brother, considering that the government’s negligence caused the death of her brother, who was driving his car on an unsafe road.
