What are the powers of Makima (Control Devil) in Chainsaw Man?

We can see that Makima is a powerful force to be reckoned with, easily asserting control over individuals.

When she first meets Denji and notices him in his Chainsaw Man form, she threatens to kill him if he doesn’t become her human pet, offering him little or no choice in the matter. However, his confidence in his own abilities is not unfounded.

Makima is neither an evil demon nor an evil hybrid, but the controlling devil herself. He is a pure devil who simply looks like a human. Being a devil grants him an infinite number of abilities, ranging from enhanced senses to manipulating the strength and minds of other creatures.

What are Makima’s evil abilities?

Since Makima is a devil, she has the upper hand over demons and hybrids. She also does not hesitate to use her power if she considers that a being is inferior to her. Discover the abilities she possesses.

Makima can control other people’s minds by forcing them to make contracts with her or other demons and erasing their memories. She can even alter their personalities, which is evident from how she made Quanxi and her other enemies affectionate towards her.

She can distinguish people with her sense of smell and listen to conversations from a distance by controlling lower life forms.

She can transmit her voice into the minds of others by placing her hand on their head. This ability can be used even with dead people. She uses this ability to communicate with other demons most of the time.

Using her power to control lower life forms such as rats, she can herd them into a person and use them to move from place to place with incredible speed.

Makima controls an invisible force around her to kill her targets before they can even realize it. The target is crushed in a blood spatter, even at long range. She must perform small rituals to use this ability, such as blindfolding people around her and pointing at the target.

Makima also possesses the devil’s standard ability to revive himself and enter into contracts even without their consent, unlike other demons. However, that doesn’t mean she won’t die. She can be killed but the concept of Control Devil never dies.

That’s why even though Makima dies when Chainsaw Man kills her in Part 1, she is reincarnated as Nayuta again.

How strong is Makima in Chainsaw Man?

Makima can take on multiple opponents at once without relying on his subordinates. She has superhuman hearing and she can tell people apart with her sense of smell. His strength level is only lower than Chainsaw Devil and Darkness Devil.

She is so powerful that she even managed to break Pochita’s chainsaws once. Even Chainsaw Man had to use the Blood Devil’s power to defeat her. She was also able to injure the Dark Devil just by using her index finger.

Who is Makima’s devil? A Glimpse of the Control Devil

The control devil is a demon born from the fear of control. Control Devil has the ability to control the body and mind of people he thinks are inferior to himself. That’s why Makima, who is the control devil herself, couldn’t control the chainsaw devil and the darkness devil.

There are two incarnations of Control Devil. Makima is the original incarnation and Nayuta is his reincarnation after Makima was killed by Chainsaw Man. Nayuta is taken under Denji’s wing so that she doesn’t turn into someone similar to Makima.

The original Control Devil, Makima, was so strong she was nearly immortal. She coerced the Prime Minister of Japan into letting her death be transferred to a random citizen in Japan in exchange for letting her work for the country. The chainsaw devil killed her several times, but she survived.

Not much is known about Nayuta who is the current incarnation of Control Devil except that she shares the same sense of affection that her predecessor felt towards dogs as well as a desire to form family bonds.

She also distinguishes people by her sense of smell, which is evident from the way she bites Denji’s finger similarly to Makima.

Chainsaw Man is a manga series by Tatsuki Fujimoto that was serialized from December 2018 to 2022. The series is supposed to get an anime series by MAPPA. A second part of the manga has also been announced

The plot of the manga revolves around Denji, an orphan boy who has to work as a devil hunter to earn a living and pay off his father’s debt.

However, his pet demon, Pochita, is killed while on a mission. Denji wakes up to realize that he and Pochita have become one being, Chainsaw Man. If he doesn’t want to be killed, he must join the government and continue to cast out demons.
