Moped accident in Montauban: strong emotion after Nadir’s death on Saturday

Nadir Bellahouel, 15, died on Saturday November 12 at the end of the afternoon at Montauban hospital. The young boy did not survive a road accident, which occurred a few hours earlier in downtown Montauban, while he was riding his moped. Very quickly, the announcement of his disappearance aroused a wave of emotion and reactions, especially on social networks. “All his friends who have just learned what happened are stunned by the news”, testifies this mother whose son was a friend of Nadir. “I can’t believe it. I feel immense sadness,” writes this other mother.

The boy lived in the town of Albias with his parents and four sisters aged 18, 16, 10 and 5 years old. “In the village, everyone liked him. He was a simple, kind and reserved person”, says one of his aunts reached by telephone. “Nadir was funny, he made everyone laugh and he liked to tease us,” says his big sister.

Passionate about motorcycles and video games

The teenager, who was going to celebrate his 16th birthday next January, followed all his education at public school and then at the Pierre-Darasse college in Caussade. Since the start of the school year in September, he had joined the class of 2^nde professional mechanics at the Claude-Nougaro high school in Caussade. “Mechanics, motorcycles… It was his passion, confesses his aunt. He also wanted to make it his job.” His parents had offered him his 50 cm motorcycle³with which he made many outings, accompanied by his friends.

His other favorite pastime was gaming, his sister continues: “He played a lot of video games, especially on the PC.”

An online kitty and a white march

Nadir’s funeral will take place this Tuesday, November 15 at 2 p.m., at the Muslim cemetery of Pont-de-Chaume, in Montauban. Her parents launched an online crowdfunding fundraiser to fund the ceremony. A white march in tribute to the young boy should also be organized by the family in Montauban, during the week.
