RTL Today – Witnesses wanted: Collision leaves three dead and one injured in Neudorf

A collision between two cars – both coming from Findel – killed four people on Monday morning. The accident occurred around 10:10 a.m. in rue de Neudorf, one of the main axes of the capital between the Rives de Clausen and Findel airport.

According to our information, a first car wanted to overtake a bus which was at the “Fierschterhaus” bus stop. A second vehicle, coming from behind, itself wanted to overtake the first car, in full maneuver.

The second vehicle – in which was a 64-year-old driver and a 31-year-old passenger – violently hit the first from the rear, before crashing head-on into the facade of a house. The traces are clearly visible there at an unexpected height. The two people who were sitting in the vehicle were killed.

A pedestrian who was on the sidewalk at the time of the collision was struck by a vehicle. Due to the severity of her injuries, she died at the scene of the accident.

As for the driver who was driving the car hit from behind, he was also injured and was taken to the emergency room. His car collided with several vehicles parked further down the street.

The technical police were instructed by the public prosecutor’s office to carry out the investigation on the spot and the vehicles involved were confiscated. The road was reopened to traffic in the early evening.

SEARCHING FOR WITNESSES

Following the accident, the prosecution is looking for witnesses. Behind the first vehicle that overtook the bus was a line of cars that were overtaken by the second vehicle. These witnesses must report to the police by calling 244 401 000.

A pedestrian would also have been on the spot at the time of the tragedy. He would have even crossed the fatally injured pedestrian on the other side of the sidewalk. This person must also report to the police.
