In the world of biathlon there is currently great concern about an up-and-coming winter sports talent: According to media reports, Norwegian biathlete Eivind Sporaland has disappeared without a trace. Since March 19, 2023, there has been no trace of the 22-year-old, which could be read on “Eurosport”, “Bild” and “Focus”.

Biathlon hopeful Eivind Sporaland, who won the silver medal at the 2021 Junior World Championships, is said to have last been seen leaving her home in Lillehammer on the morning of March 19, 2023, after which the track of the athlete was lost. A missing person’s report was filed with the police, friends of biathletes, the Red Cross and the civil defense support the investigators in the search for Eivind Sporaland – but without success. Since then, a week has passed in which the biathlete has not yet been found, despite extensive searches in forests and hiking areas.

In the meantime, even the Norwegian secret service is said to have intervened in the missing persons case. In addition, searches were published on social media, which should lead to Eivind Sporaland being found soon. At the time of his disappearance, the slim, 1.80 meter tall biathlete was wearing a blue down jacket, dark trousers, red sneakers and a hat.
