Criminal police determined: After the accident: a six-year-old is being autopsied today

A six-year-old boy was found dead in the Kitzbüheler Ache in St. Johann in Tirol during a search on Sunday morning. According to the first results of the investigation, the mentally handicapped child from the Kitzbühel district must have climbed out of the pram and fallen into the Ache after his 37-year-old German father had been robbed and knocked unconscious by a stranger.

According to the Tyrolean State Criminal Police Office, the child was aborted and finally found dead around 600 meters downstream. An autopsy of the boy was ordered by the public prosecutor for today, Monday. There is currently no indication that the unknown perpetrator used violence on him, emphasized LKA director Katja Tersch to the APA.

Unknown apparently fled

The wanted person had approached the father of the boy, who was walking on a promenade with his son sitting in a buggy, from behind around 4 a.m. in the area of ​​the main school jetty and then hit him with a targeted and powerful blow with a bottle back of head. The 37-year-old fell to the ground and remained unconscious. The perpetrator is said to have taken the man’s wallet and mobile phone. He fled in an unknown direction. The cell phone and wallet were eventually found in the immediate vicinity of the crime scene.

A walk or a drive in the early hours of the morning was not uncommon for the father-son team, explained Katja Tersch, head of the Tyrolean State Criminal Police Office, to the “Tiroler Tageszeitung”. It calmed the boy down.

At around 5:20 a.m., the father was found unconscious by a passer-by. This informed the rescue. In the course of providing assistance, the father asked about his child. A search operation involving the fire brigade, a service dog patrol and numerous police patrols was then initiated. An hour later, the six-year-old was finally found dead.

The 37-year-old suffered an injury, received medical treatment and was finally admitted to the St. Johann hospital. The man was also given psychological care. For the time being, there was no trace of the perpetrator.
