Miroslav Micho Velickovich (61), born in Miraflores (Lima) and living in the United States, was an experienced aerobatic pilot who over the years participated in various competitions around the world, while Major FAP Miguel Fernando Duarte Lozada ( 34) graduated from the Air Force Officers School (EOFAP) in 2009 as part of the Colonel FAP Winston San Martin Canales Promotion. At the time of his death, Duarte Lozada was part of the Bicolor Acrobatic Squadron, based at the Coronel Pedro Ruiz Gallo Base (Chiclayo), which operates the Moravan Zlin Z-242L.

According to information collected by defense.com, the crashed aircraft is an MX Technologies MX2 – N263MX – which had taken off at approximately 4:30 pm. from the Spruce Creek Fly-In Airfield. The ship, which crashed at 6 pm, was found impacted in an inverted position at about 14 km. to the south in the forests surrounding Lake Ashby (Volusia County). At the moment, specialists from the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) and the NTSB (National Transportation Safety Board) are at the scene to initiate investigations to determine the causes of the accident.

The MX Technologies MX2, registration N263MX, was manufactured in 2006 and registered the serial number 3. It has a length of 6.55 m, wingspan of 7.32 m. – with wing area of ​​9.5 mtwo and a height of 1.83 m. You can perform maneuvers at +12G. It is powered by a 360 HP Lycoming IO-540 engine, giving it a top speed of over 400 km/h. Its empty weight is 584 kg. and the maximum of 975 kg.
