Although the ideal would be to value intelligence, emotions, professionalism, lreality is another; some continue to give weight to the physical. As happened with a teacher from New Jersey, United Stateswho is facing the criticism from some parents, as they point out that her voluptuous body and curvaceous figure distracts the students.
Through various local and international media, the case of “The Art Teacher” was made known, as the teacher calls herself on her social networks.
According to the story –now viral–, the teacher has received accusations and criticism from parents at the preschool level. Due to the above, the teacher has defended herself on social networks.
In a publication, the teacher mentioned that she is only focused on her work, because when she is in class she knows that she can help shape the minds of future generations. She pointed out that in addition to being caring and passionate in class, her job is to be affectionate with the little ones.
“I know I always look angry or deadly serious when I’m in the room. It is neither. I am focused! The thing is, I only know of a few jobs that are as important as shaping the next generation of minds. It always amazes me how much these kids are learning. They are really soaking up everything we feed them in these schools. Not only do we have to be immensely efficient, but we have to be overly loving and caring. Some kids use school as their sanctuary, our job is so much more than just teaching you facts!” one post reads.
In another publication, the teacher mentioned that to get to where she is she has had to fight a lot. She pointed out that there are people who point out, hurt without knowing everything that is behind her person:
“Artist, art teacher, influencer, etc. I worked for years to become the woman I am today. Strong, successful, loving, motivated, etc. Unfortunately, being an influencer makes it easy for most people to dismiss the immense amount of work it takes to get to where I am today. Most of the time we just show the end results, so people tend to completely dismiss the sheer amount of work it takes to get here. Even worse, some people believe that we are made of stone and that we have no feelings. Some forget the fact that their lack of empathy can lead us to lose the income we use to support our families or our emotional control…” she shared.
Finally, in another publication via Instagram, he shared everything that the teachers have to face in their day to day, so without mentioning the parents, he made it clear that what matters least is the physical:
“Only two weeks of school! With God’s blessing I was able to complete another year! Just in case you didn’t know this, to be a teacher, you have to live almost two different lives. As a teacher, you are personally responsible for the minds, emotions, and safety of other people’s most precious jewels, their children! This means that if I am having a sad day, a day off, or even an angry day, you have to leave those feelings at the door. Teachers have to be able to handle the daily bumps, endless amount of mood swings, must work well under pressure, be able to multitask, juggle, entertain, be a psychiatrist, comedian, counselor, mind reader, patrolman security, and an infinite abundance of other things. When we are here, we must live for our students! Check yourself in the door and put on that teacher cape. We matter!” said the teacher.
