Brazilian Denis Vieira, a dancer graduated from the Bolshoi Theater who died on Thursday (29), aged 31, shared his passion for the stage with his pleasure in cooking.

The artist is described by his mother, Bárbara Fernandes Martins, as someone who “loved to eat all the time” and very vain.

The young man was born in 1991, in Joinville (SC). He was a member of Companhia Jovem Bolshoi Brasil and worked at Theatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro from 2010 to 2014.

On the Rio stage, the artist was the first dancer in shows such as “Romeo and Juliet”, “Onegin”, “Coppelia”, “The Nutcracker and The Creation”.

“I’ve always had this desire, this crazy passion for dancing, which reminds me of my mother. I need to dance to feel good in all aspects. To feel fulfilled”, said the dancer, in an excerpt published by Theatro do Rio.

Denis graduated from the Bolshoi Theater School in Brazil, in 2008. The former student is described by the institution as someone who had a gift for dance.

“The Bolshoi School regrets the passing of this artist from Joinville who made history on the stages of Joinville and the world”, published the school, on social networks.

In addition, he also had international passages at the Zurich, Berlin and Munich Operas. Currently, the dancer lived in Larnaca, on the southeast coast of the island of Cyprus.

Death

The dancer’s death was confirmed by his mother on his social media.

As she wrote, the dancer fell and hit her head.. “All we know is that it was a tragedy, a fall, and he broke his skull. Only tomorrow will we know more news. The report comes out in 7 days. Thanks for everything and everyone looking for news. A tragedy!”

The burial will take place in Joinville, between Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Bolshoi Theater School in Brazil, where Vieira graduated in 2008, posted a condolence note on Instagram.

“Denis Vieira was a student at the Bolshoi School, graduated in 2008, later joined Cia. Jovem Bolshoi Brasil. Very talented, he went to Theatro Municipal in Rio de Janeiro and later joined Cias. da Europa in Berlin, Zurich and Munich.
