Hamid Abdel Fattah Gohar was born on November 15, 1907 and died on June 17, 1992, an Egyptian oceanologist and TV presenter, born in Cairo. He presented the “Sea World” program for more than 18 years. He received his primary education at the Islamic Charitable Association School, and his secondary education at the Royal Secondary School (later Khedive Ismail), from which he obtained a baccalaureate degree in 1925 (the year the Egyptian University was established).

Among them, he obtained a Bachelor of Science with first class honors, and was appointed as a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Animal Sciences in the college.

In the year 1931 – two years after his graduation – he submitted his first thesis to which he applied for a master’s degree, the subject of which was “Exact Anatomy and Endocrine Histology in the Rabbit”.

After that, Gohar moved to work at the marine biology station in Hurghada, and continued scientific research in the organisms of the Red Sea, until he obtained a doctorate degree in science in this branch of knowledge, and perhaps – as Dr. Abdel Halim Montaser says – the first to obtain it in Egypt.
