Two carriages and a train tractor derailed at Qantara West Station in Ismailia Governorate, without any injuries or loss of life.

Major General Mahmoud Ashour, Director of Ismailia Security, received a notification from the Railway Police Department that the tractor and the two carriages had left the tracks of the “Port Said / Sohag” train.

Immediately, the railway investigation officers moved to the scene, and it was found that the tractor and the two carriages of the train had left the railway tracks, and follow-up is underway.

The National Safety and Emergency Network in the Canal region, headed by Major General Henry Ibrahim, is following up on the incident.

The House of Representatives Transport and Communications Committee, chaired by Representative Alaa Abed, will discuss tomorrow, Sunday, the number of briefing requests submitted by deputies in Sharkia Governorate regarding the development of railway platforms, the delay in implementing the road linking Sinbellaween and Zagazig, and the implementation of the pedestrian tunnel project under the railway in Hyhia.

In its meeting, the committee will discuss the request for briefing submitted by Representative Iman Khadr, regarding the failure to develop railway platforms in the villages of Shaybah, Bardin, Hariya Razna, Al-Musalmiyya, Al-Shabanat, and Al-Zankalon in the Zagazig Center in Al-Sharqiya Governorate, despite its inclusion in the plan years ago.

The committee will also discuss, in its meeting, two briefing requests submitted by Representative Mai Rushdi Ghaith, regarding the poor condition of the exits of the regional road in the Nabi Saleh village area, Minya Al-Qamh Center, Sharkia Governorate, as well as the presence of a misplaced bridge, which led to many accidents.

Also discussing the briefing request submitted by Representative Abdel-Baqi Turkey, regarding the delay in implementing the road linking Sinbellaween and Zagazig within the fourth and final phase of the regional road, the East Delta Corridor, to maximize the use of the corridor and reduce traffic congestion inside the city of Zagazig.

A request for briefing was submitted by Representative Hatem Abdelaziz, regarding the failure to set a timetable for the implementation of the pedestrian tunnel project under the railway in the city of Haya in the Sharkia Governorate, with an emphasis on the need for the tunnel design to be appropriate with the needs of the elderly and children.

The Zifta-Banha road, at the Sahara Bridge area, at the entrance to the village of Sandbast, affiliated to the center and city of Zifti in Gharbia Governorate, witnessed a train collision with an private car while it was crossing from an illegal crossing area, which resulted in the death of a person named Ahmed Bobo, and the injury of another, Muhammad Hassan. Serious injuries, they were transferred to Zefti General Hospital.
