Activists on social media circulated video clips that documented a strange phenomenon occurring in Makkah and at the Kaaba for the first time, as snow fell on the Haram and Makkah for the first time.
The world is now facing, in the winter season, an unprecedented wave of frost and snow storms, which have killed many people in Europe and America, in conjunction with climate change that threatens the planet, and reversed the weather of some countries.
The clips, which were circulated widely on Twitter, showed snow falling on the Great Mosque of Mecca and the Kaaba.
And the white color – the color of snow – covered the floor of the Grand Mosque in Mecca and the Kaaba with its famous black robe.
According to the circulating clips, the authenticity of what was stated in it has not been confirmed by any official Source so far, the pilgrims appeared around the Kaaba documenting this rare and unprecedented event, with their mobile phone cameras, and they were very happy with this rare scene in this blessed spot.
At the same time, this scene sparked a great controversy among the activists of the communication sites, as some of them linked the snowfall in Makkah Al-Mukarramah to the signs of the end times, and the appearance of the expected Mahdi.
In this context, one of the activists wrote: “So they pledged allegiance to him, even if they crawled on snow, for he is God’s successor, the Mahdi.”
And he continued, explaining: “You can imagine that this picture is in Saudi Arabia!! And the hadith above is of the Messenger of God, who did not know his time or the time of his ancestors as snow in the Arabian Peninsula! He did not say, so pledge allegiance to him, even if they crawled on the burning sands, but rather he said, even if they crawled on the snow.. Here is the snow.
The activists refer in this matter to the hadith of the Messenger – may God’s prayers and peace be upon him – “Three will fight over your treasure, all of them the son of a caliph, then it does not happen to one of them, then the black banners will rise from the east, and they will kill you in a way that no people have killed, then he mentioned something that I do not remember.” He said: If you see him, pledge allegiance to him, even if he crawled on snow, for he is the caliph of God, the Mahdi.
Others questioned the authenticity of this clip in the first place, and said that the video of snow falling in Mecca is incorrect, and that this video, which was popular among activists, was fabricated through the use of “slow motion” graphic techniques.
No official comment has been issued so far by the Saudi authorities, confirming or denying the validity of what was stated in this clip, which was very popular and sparked controversy.
Also, this clip was not published by any official Saudi media, so its validity or not depends on the Saudi official media statement or a response from the authorities.
In another context, the National Center of Meteorology in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia raised the warning in the Makkah Al-Mukarramah region to an “advanced alert” of moderate to heavy rains, indicating that the warning continues until 3:00 pm (Monday).
The center confirmed that the advanced alert includes: the holy capital, Jeddah, Al-Khurma, Al-Mowaih, Turbah, Rania, Adham, Maysan, Al-Taif, Al-Kamil, Rabigh, Khulais, Asfan, Al-Jumum, Bahra, Al-Laith, Al-Shuaiba.
The center indicated that the forecast indicates a continuation of the situation with medium to heavy rains accompanied by activity in surface winds, high waves, hail, torrential rains, and almost no vision.
And the National Center of Meteorology had predicted, in its weather report, on Sunday, that the opportunity is still ripe for thunderstorms, from medium to heavy, accompanied by active winds and showers of hail that lead to torrential rains in parts of the regions of Al-Baha, Makkah Al-Mukarramah and Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah.
The sky will also be partly cloudy to cloudy, and the opportunity is ripe for thunderstorms accompanied by active winds in parts of the regions of Najran, Jazan and Asir, as well as in parts of the regions of Riyadh, Qassim, Hail, Tabuk, Al-Jawf and the northern borders.
While horizontal visibility is affected by fog in parts of those areas, and light snowfall is not excluded on the heights of the Tabuk region (Alaqan – Al Dhaher – Jabal Al Lawz).
