Toyota C-HR (2023)

The Toyota C-HR Prologue study shows even more rough edges. This should not change until the start of series production in Europe at the end of 2023.

At the same time, however, important points of criticism from customers were eliminated. The roof line no longer falls as much as on the old SUV coupe.

That brings more headroom and makes it easier to get into the interior, which Toyota hasn’t shown yet.

To conceal this, the approximately 4.50 meter long Prologue has a three-tone paint finish with a rear roof section in sulfur yellow.

In addition, the small window in front of the C-pillar has been eliminated – but this has not improved rear visibility.

In addition to a full hybrid variant with 184 hp (135 kW), a plug-in hybrid with more than 200 hp (147 kW) and an electric range of over 80 kilometers is also planned.

Anyone who expected Toyota to backtrack on the successor was wrong: the near-series Toyota C-HR Prologue study shows an even bolder appearance. It will be available as a hybrid and plug-in hybrid. Toyota has not yet announced a price.

The bet would have been lost: Anyone who believed after the presentation of the much better drawn new generation of the Toyota Prius that the next C-HR would be more conventional will be surprised – the Toyota C-HR Prologue shows almost even more rough edges. This should not change until the start of series production in Europe at the end of 2023. At the same time, however, important points of criticism from customers were eliminated. The roof line of the Toyota C-HR (2023) no longer falls as much as with the old SUV coupe. This brings more headroom and makes it easier to get into the interior, which Toyota hasn’t shown yet. To conceal this, the approximately 4.50 meter long Prologue has a three-tone paint finish with a rear roof section in sulfur yellow. In addition, the small window in front of the C-pillar has been eliminated – but this has not improved rear visibility. The front with the grille hidden under the nose looks like that of an electric car. Toyota describes the light graphic as a “hammerhead shark face”, which will also appear on other models from the carmaker. The technical data: In addition to a full hybrid variant with 184 hp (135 kW), a plug-in hybrid with more than 200 hp (147 kW) and an electric range of over 80 kilometers is also planned. An E variant is also in the starting blocks: It is expected under the name bZ3X for 2024. The 4.54 meter long bZ Compact SUV study, which is similar to the Toyota C-HR Prologue but has different rear lights, for example, has already been presented. Like the Toyota C-HR (2023), the bZ3X is to be built in Europe. Of course, nothing reliable can be said about the price at this point in time. Just so much for classification: The current predecessor is available from 31,840 euros (as of December 2022). Also interesting: Our product tips on Amazon
