The event is divided into a classic mass start and pursuit, but it won’t be quite like the World Cup. In the mass start, the women start, after the shooting, the men take their place. Four laps (approx. 1.3 km) are scheduled for the women and five for the men. Each miss earns an extra 75 yards.
After the end of the mass start, there is a short break, with the gap halved, the pursuit begins. If teams are more than 45 seconds behind the leaders, they start together. The duo that crosses the finish line first wins.
