Fiat Fastback: price, versions, photos and the commercial

A two-minute intermission campaign on TV Globo’s Fantástico marks the launch of the new Fiat Fastback, a Fiat SUV mounted on the same platform as the Fiat Argo. Below we talk a little about the car.

The Fastback is a coupé SUV created on the same platform as the Fiat Argo, which also gave rise to the Cronos and Pulse. The vehicle is surprising for its size. Fiat, which until last year did not have an SUV in its lineup, now has the biggest product in its category. The Fastback is an inch longer than the Jeep Compass.

Although it was created on the same platform as the Pulse and shared most of the parts and the engine with its “brother” Pulse, Fiat tried to give the vehicle a more refined look. That’s why it adopted black piano details on the center console and adopted the electronic brake in place of the manual lever present in the Pulse.

The price starts at R$130,000, so the Fastback is positioned above the Fiat Pulse and below the Toro pickup. There is also a sports top version with a Toro engine that costs R$ 150 thousand called “Limited Edition by Abarth”.

versions

Below are listed the three versions of the vehicle already available at dealerships. Prices are from the Fiat table for dealerships throughout Brazil. As in São Paulo the ICMS charged is higher, there is a variation between R$ 2 thousand and R$ 3 thousand upwards.

Audace 1.0 turbo – automatic emergency braking, electronic brake, digital air conditioning, foreign parking sensor and camera, 8-inch multimedia center. The panel is physical with a black and white screen in the center. Available for R$ 129,990.00.

Impetus 1.0 turbo – the same items as the Audace version with two-tone roof, sports wheel, leather seats, front parking sensor and 10-inch multimedia center. The dashboard is all digital. Available for R$ 139,990.00.

Limited Edition (Abarth) 1.3 turbo – comes with a T270 1.3 turboflex engine (the same as the Fiat Toro and Jeep Renegade). It’s a sporty car that will display the Abarth brand next to the vehicle’s name. However, it will not be the debut of the Abarth brand with a model of its own. This will happen with the Abarth Pulse, which should arrive at the end of the year. This car leaves for R$ 149,990.00.

The new SUV is available with 1.0 turbo engines (from Pulse) and we tell you here how it goes, which yields up to 130hp, and the 1.3 turbo (from Toro).

According to Fiat, the brand has managed to bring together unique elements in the Fastback that only more expensive cars have at competitive prices. Fiat highlighted at the presentation the model’s 516-liter trunk, the largest in its category. He also highlighted the measurements: 4.43 in length and 20 cm in height from the ground.

Inside the car brings the concept already presented in Pulse with some elements produced in other materials. These are details that are on the steering wheel, center console, etc., which received a black finish, known as “black piano”. On Pulse this finish is matte gray.

the commercial

According to Fiat, five cars were used in the recording and one of them was dismantled to make the “flying” scene. The jump scene was filmed at an airport in the interior of São Paulo.

The open plans and the line of stopped cars (there were 50, according to Fiat) were recorded on a road in the city of Laguna, Santa Catarina. Then the scenes were put together in editing.

The commercial was prepared to be shown in its entirety (2 minutes) during the break of Fantástico, on TV Globo. The time is one of the most expensive on TV. Currently, the program is sponsored by Chevrolet, which has recently overtaken Fiat by buying ad quota on the BBB (we talk about it here).
